Eco Communities are often classified as high, moderate or low demand communities. High demand communities often have set beliefs, rigorous practises and schedules and are often income and/or asset sharing. Only a small percentage of intentional communities are high demand and many of them have a spiritual focus (eg, Catholic or Buddhist). High demand communities often have a hierarchical system of governance.

Low demand communities, on the other hand, ask very little of the community. An example of low demand community might be a retirement village - people may be attracted by the facilities and the potential of having nice neighbours, but aren't required to be committed to the community, with the only requirement being to adhere to the financial requirements and cultural norms of the community.

ecoparc aims to create moderate demand communities. Our villagers would have the opportunity to contribute their skills and enthusiasm to various working groups. Each villager will likely be on rosters for cooking and cleaning. Investing in ourselves and those around us is key to the success of the eco village/s.
